O que é Metro circuit?

Definition 15.1 Networks, Hardware and Trading Infrastructure · Capítulo 15 — Buying Connectivity

A metro circuit is a point-to-point connection between two buildings in the same metropolitan area (two data centres, a data centre and an office), sold as a lit service of a given speed or built on leased or owned fibre.

A New Jersey firm’s connectivity as purchases, schematically: cross-connects and ports in its own building, metro circuits to the other two buildings of the triangle (chapter 10), a long-haul route with its back-up to Chicago (chapters 13 and 14), and a circuit to a provider for the data it does not collect itself.
