CoachA working-time opt-out is a worker’s written agreement, allowed by EU law where a Member State chooses and by UK law, to work more than an average of 48 hours a week; it can be withdrawn on notice. An exempt employee, in US law, is one whom the Fair Labor Standards Act’s overtime rules do not cover because of the job’s duties and a minimum salary.
