CoachA recruiting cycle is the calendar on which a firm fills an entry-level class: applications open, assessments, final rounds and offers run in a fixed window, for a start date that is usually the following year. Hiring outside the cycle, for a specific opening and a start date as soon as the candidate is free, is lateral hiring.
