An air parcel is a volume of air followed in its motion, small enough to have a single temperature and pressure and not to disturb the air around it, large enough to keep its identity: it exchanges no mass and, during a quick displacement, no heat with its surroundings, and its pressure is at every moment that of the surrounding air.
