什么是 Barrovian zones; metamorphic field gradient?

又称: Barrovian zones · metamorphic field gradient

Definition 11.1 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 2 · 第 11 章 — Thermobarometry and P–T–t Paths

The Barrovian zones are the metamorphic zones of metapelites in the order chlorite, biotite, garnet, staurolite, kyanite, sillimanite, each beginning at the isograd of its index mineral. The metamorphic field gradient of a region is the curve, in the pressure–temperature plane, through the peak conditions recorded by its rocks at the places where they now crop out.

Barrovian zones on a map, schematic. Each isograd (red line, named above the map) is the line where its index mineral first appears; grade, and the depth of the shading, rise to the right. Each zone is named after the mineral that appears at its low-grade boundary.
