The Bouma sequence is the ideal succession of divisions in a turbidite bed, from base to top: Ta, massive or graded sand on an erosional base with flute and tool marks; Tb, parallel-laminated sand; Tc, ripple cross-laminated and convolute fine sand; Td, parallel-laminated silt; Te, mud, partly from the turbidity current and partly from the slow settling between flows.
