Brightness temperature কী?

Definition 25.6 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 3 · অধ্যায় 25 — Remote Sensing and GIS

The brightness temperature TbT_b of a surface at the wavelength λ\lambda is the temperature of the black body that would emit the spectral radiance LL measured from it at that wavelength. The kinetic temperature is the surface’s thermodynamic temperature, the one a thermometer would read.

Left, Planck’s law for surfaces at 300 and 400\, K and for the lava of an eruption at 1170\, C (1443\, K), with the shortwave infrared band 7 and the thermal band 10 of Landsat 8 shaded. Right, the brightness temperature in band 10 of a pixel in which a fraction f is at 370\, K and the rest at 290\, K, against the area-weighted mean temperature: the hot part counts for more than its area.
