什么是 Clay mineral?

Definition 7.7 High School Earth and Space Sciences · 第 7 章 — Soil, a Slow-Forming Resource

A clay mineral is a silicate built of thin sheets of atoms stacked on one another, formed by weathering, which occurs as flakes far smaller than grains of sand. Kaolinite is one of them.

The clay–humus complex (schematic): negatively charged clay sheets hold positive ions on their surfaces and between them; a root exchanges hydrogen ions for these nutrients.
