什么是 Deformation mechanism map?

Definition 7.8 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 3 · 第 7 章 — Deformation Mechanisms and Shear Zones

A deformation mechanism map of a mineral or rock shows, on axes of two of the variables stress, grain size and temperature, the fields in which each mechanism is the fastest, with contours of the total strain rate.

Deformation mechanism map of dry olivine at 1100\, C and 2\, GPa. The thick line divides the fields where dislocation creep (above) and diffusion creep (below) is faster; the thin lines are contours of the total strain rate, flat where dislocation creep, which ignores the grain size, dominates.
