Fault কী?

Definition 20.1 Primary & Middle School Earth and Space Sciences · অধ্যায় 20 — Earthquakes

A fault is a break in the rocks along which the two blocks on either side have moved with respect to each other. During an earthquake the blocks slip suddenly along the fault; the larger the fault and the slip, the larger the earthquake.

Steps in the ground left by the 1983 Borah Peak earthquake, in Idaho (United States), seen from the air: along the fault, one side dropped down with respect to the other, and the step crosses the road at the top.
