什么是 Flow net?

Definition 23.9 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 3 · 第 23 章 — Hydrogeology

A flow net is a drawing of steady groundwater flow in a homogeneous, isotropic section by two families of curves: equipotentials, lines of equal head, and streamlines, which the water follows. The streamlines cross the equipotentials at right angles, and in a flow net they are spaced so that the cells are curvilinear squares.

Seepage under a dam 20\, m wide on a layer of sand 20\, m thick, the reservoir 10\, m above the water downstream, computed by solving Laplace’s equation for the head and for the stream function. Thin lines: equipotentials, one every metre of head. Thick lines: four streamlines which, with the dam base and the floor, bound five flow channels. The computed seepage is 0.51\,KH per metre of dam; the flow net gives KH × 5/10 = 0.50\,KH.
