Ionic potential কী?

Definition 19.8 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 1 · অধ্যায় 19 — Weathering and Clays

The ionic potential of an ion is the ratio z/rz/r of its charge number zz to its ionic radius rr, here in ångströms (for the same coordination for all ions, sixfold in what follows).

The ionic-potential diagram: each ion placed by its effective ionic radius in sixfold coordination (Shannon, 1976) and its charge. The lines z/r = 3 and z/r = 10 separate the ions that leave in solution as cations, those that stay as hydroxides or oxides, and those that leave as oxyanions. Silicon lies on the upper boundary.
