什么是 Monsoon?

Definition 23.4 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 2 · 第 23 章 — Climate Variability

A monsoon is a thermally driven wind, arising from the different heating of a land mass and the adjacent ocean, that reverses its direction with the seasons, together with the seasonal reversal of rainfall it brings.

The monsoon as a land–sea circulation (schematic section, not to scale): in summer the land is the warmer surface, with low pressure at the ground, inflow of moist air from the sea, rising air and rain; in winter the circulation reverses and the land wind is dry.
