什么是 Rainforest?

Definition 11.6 Primary & Middle School Earth and Space Sciences · 第 11 章 — Weather and Climate

A rainforest is a thick forest of very tall trees that grows where it is warm and wet all year round, with heavy rain in every month. Most rainforests lie near the equator.

Three extreme climates. Left: the Sonoran Desert in Arizona, the desert of Phoenix, with tall saguaro cacti and prickly pears, which store water in their thick stems (photograph: U.S. National Park Service, Saguaro National Park, public domain). Middle: inside a rainforest after a shower. Right: a polar coast in winter, with a frozen sea and a low Sun at midday. Three extreme climates.
