什么是 Silicate; silicon–oxygen tetrahedron?

又称: silicon--oxygen tetrahedron · silicate

Definition 16.6 High School Earth and Space Sciences · 第 16 章 — Minerals

The silicon–oxygen tetrahedron is the group SiOX4\ce{SiO4} formed by one silicon atom and the four oxygen atoms around it, at the corners of a tetrahedron. A silicate is a mineral built from silicon–oxygen tetrahedra, alone or linked to one another by shared corners.

(a) The silicon–oxygen tetrahedron: a silicon atom (black) and four oxygen atoms (pink) at the corners of a tetrahedron. (b)–(e) Tetrahedra seen from above, each as a triangle: the circles are the oxygens of its base, the dot the silicon, beneath the fourth oxygen; two triangles meeting at a corner share that oxygen. (f) In a framework every corner is shared, in three dimensions: here one tetrahedron and its four neighbours. Drawings, not to scale.
