什么是 Stellar yield?

Definition 30.4 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 3 · 第 30 章 — Where the Elements Come From

The stellar yield of an element from a star of given initial mass is the mass of that element which the star has newly made and returns to the interstellar gas, in winds and in its final explosion, as a fraction of the star’s mass.

The Crab Nebula, a mosaic of 24 Hubble Space Telescope exposures: the expanding remains of a star whose explosion Japanese and Chinese astronomers recorded in 1054. The orange filaments are the tattered outer layers of the star, mostly hydrogen; the bluish glow inside comes from electrons spiralling around the magnetic field lines of the neutron star at the centre, which spins thirty times a second. The gas of the filaments, carrying what the star made, mixes into the interstellar medium. NASA, ESA, J. Hester and A. Loll, public domain.
