什么是 Tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite suite?

又称: tonalite--trondhjemite--granodiorite suite

Definition 18.4 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 2 · 第 18 章 — The Precambrian Earth

The tonalite–trondhjemite–granodiorite suite (TTG) is the family of sodium-rich, potassium-poor granitoids — tonalites, trondhjemites (tonalites poor in mafic minerals) and granodiorites — that makes up most of the Archean continental crust. Most of them formed by partial melting of hydrated basaltic crust.

The dome-and-keel pattern of some Archean cratons (schematic, not to scale). Map: granitoid domes of the TTG suite framed by greenstone; the strike-and-dip symbols show the layers of the greenstones dipping away from every dome. Section: the domes rise as the dense greenstone pile sinks into synclinal keels between them (arrows).
