什么是 Transpression, transtension?

又称: transpression · transtension

Definition 9.14 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 3 · 第 9 章 — Extensional and Strike-Slip Tectonics

Transpression is strike-slip deformation combined with shortening across the zone; transtension, strike-slip deformation combined with extension across it. Both arise where the motion between two blocks is oblique to the boundary between them.

Strike-slip structures (not to scale). (a) In a dextral zone, _1 at 45: R shears at 15 and P shears at -15 with the zone’s sense, R' shears at 75 with the opposite sense, tension fractures T parallel to _1. (b) A right step on a dextral fault opens a pull-apart basin; a left step pushes up a ridge. (c) The fault splays upward into a positive flower beneath a ridge and a negative flower beneath a sag.
Strike-slip structures (not to scale). (a) In a dextral zone, σ1\sigma_1 at 45∘45{}^{\circ}: R shears at 15∘15{}^{\circ} and P shears at −15∘-15{}^{\circ} with the zone’s sense, R′' shears at 75∘75{}^{\circ} with the opposite sense, tension fractures T parallel to σ1\sigma_1. (b) A right step on a dextral fault opens a pull-apart basin; a left step pushes up a ridge. (c) The fault splays upward into a positive flower beneath a ridge and a negative flower beneath a sag.
