A world map is a map of the whole Earth drawn flat on a sheet of paper or on a screen, with all the continents and all the oceans in one picture.

A world map. The globe has been cut along a line through the middle of the Pacific Ocean and stretched flat: the Pacific appears twice, on the left and on the right edge. Antarctica, a round continent around the South Pole, is stretched into a long band along the bottom. Coastlines: Natural Earth (public domain).
