What is Parity?

Let $f$ be defined on a domain $D$ symmetric about $0$ (i.e. $-x \in D$ whenever $x \in D$). The function $f$ is even if $f(-x) = f(x)$ for all $x \in D$, and odd if $f(-x) = -f(x)$ for all $x \in D$.
