What is Quartiles, interquartile range?

The first quartile Q1Q_1 is the smallest value such that at least a quarter of the data is ≤Q1\leq Q_1; the third quartile Q3Q_3 is the smallest value such that at least three quarters of the data is ≤Q3\leq Q_3. The interquartile range is Q3−Q1Q_3 - Q_1: the width of the central half of the data.
