What is Exponential decay?

A quantity following $N_0\,e^{-\lambda t}$ undergoes exponential decay: in equal times, equal fractions are lost. It is exactly the discharging capacitor of Chapter 30, with $\lambda$ playing $1/(RC)$: one differential equation, learned once, runs circuits and nuclei alike.
