什么是 Signal?

Definition 8.1 High School Physics · 第 8 章 — Signals and Waves

A signal is a physical quantity that varies in time to carry information: the air pressure at your eardrum, the voltage at a microphone’s terminals, the brightness of the light in an optical fiber. To study a signal, record it as a function of time and read the information off the curve.

示例

Example 8.5 (Mains and concert pitch)

The mains voltage oscillates at f=50 Hzf = 50\,\mathrm{Hz}: its period is T=1/f=0.020 s=20 msT = 1/f = 0.020\,\mathrm{s} = 20\,\mathrm{ms}. An orchestra’s concert A is a pressure signal at 440 Hz440\,\mathrm{Hz}: one cycle lasts T=1/440=2.3 msT = 1/440 = 2.3\,\mathrm{ms}. Higher frequency, shorter cycle: ff and TT are inverses of each other.
