什么是 Glacier?

Definition 27.1 Primary & Middle School Earth and Space Sciences · 第 27 章 — Ice on Earth

A glacier is a mass of ice, formed from snow piled up over many years, that moves slowly downhill over the land under its own weight.

A valley glacier seen in a long section (a sketch, not to scale). Above the dashed line, snow piles up faster than it melts; below it, the ice melts faster than snow falls. The ice flows down from one part to the other.
