什么是 Great circle, spherical triangle?

又称: great circle · small circle · spherical triangle

Definition 1.1 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 1 · 第 1 章 — Spherical Astronomy

A great circle of a sphere is its intersection with a plane through its centre; any other plane section is a small circle. Through two points that are not diametrically opposite passes exactly one great circle, and the shorter of its two arcs is the shortest path on the sphere between the points. A spherical triangle is the figure formed by three points of the sphere, its vertices AA, BB, CC, joined by arcs of great circles of less than 180∘180{}^{\circ}. Its sides aa, bb, cc (opposite AA, BB, CC) are measured by the angles they subtend at the centre; its angles AA, BB, CC are the angles between the planes of the sides that meet at each vertex.

A spherical triangle ABC on a sphere of centre O. The sides a, b, c are arcs of great circles, measured by the angles BOC, COA, AOB; the angle A (red) is the angle between the two sides that meet at A. The triangle drawn has a = 78.6, b = 62.6, c = 64.8 and angles of 89.9, 64.9 and 67.4, which add up to more than 180.
