什么是 Klippe; tectonic window?

又称: klippe · tectonic window

Definition 13.5 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 2 · 第 13 章 — Anatomy of a Mountain Belt: The Alps

A klippe (plural klippen) is an isolated remnant of a nappe, left standing on the rocks beneath it when erosion has removed the rest of the sheet; it is surrounded by its basal thrust. A tectonic window is a hole eroded through a nappe, where the rocks beneath its basal thrust appear, surrounded by the nappe.

A nappe (colour) over its autochthon (grey) after erosion, in a schematic section: where its basal thrust (heavy line) arches up, erosion has cut through the nappe and opened a tectonic window onto the rocks beneath; in front, a remnant of the nappe stands isolated on the autochthon, a klippe.
