什么是 P–T path; prograde and retrograde paths; peak metamorphic conditions?

又称: P--T path · prograde path · retrograde path · peak metamorphic conditions

Definition 11.5 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 2 · 第 11 章 — Thermobarometry and P–T–t Paths

The P–T path of a rock is the sequence of pressures and temperatures it passed through during a metamorphic event. Its prograde path is the part along which temperature rises, its retrograde path the part along which it falls. The peak metamorphic conditions are the pressure and temperature at the highest temperature of the path, the thermal peak; the pressure peak, or baric peak, need not coincide with it.

P–T path of the rock that lies at 35\, km just after the stacking (red, sampled every two million years), computed with the model of the geotherms above, over the experimental Al2SiO5 diagram of (grey). The pressure peak comes first, the thermal peak during decompression: a clockwise path, which never leaves the kyanite field.
