What is Short circuit?

Definition 41.6 Primary & Middle School Physics · Chapter 41 — Electric Circuits and Safety

A short circuit happens when a bare conducting road connects a battery’s (or socket’s) two sides directly, skipping every device. With nothing useful in its way, the current rushes wildly — wires heat, insulation melts, batteries are ruined, and mains wiring can catch fire. Next year’s circuits chapter studies the villain closely; this year, learn its face and keep it out of your builds.
