Une bobine est un solénoïde de fil : son courant enfile ses propres spires d’un champ magnétique (Chapitre 15) ; dès qu’il change, une tension apparaît aux bornes de la bobine :

u = L\,\frac{di}{dt} .

La constante $L$ est l’inductance, en henrys ( $\mathrm{H}$ ) : $1\,\mathrm{H} = 1\,\mathrm{V}\,\mathrm{s}/\mathrm{A}$ .
