什么是 Heat flow?

Definition 24.1 High School Earth and Space Sciences · 第 24 章 — The Earth’s Internal Heat

The heat flow (or heat flux) at a place is the power that leaves the Earth’s interior through each square metre of its surface there. It is measured in milliwatts per square metre (mW/m2\mathrm{mW}/\mathrm{m}^{2}).

Heat flow through the ocean floor against its age, as computed for the cooling of the lithosphere (t in millions of years); beyond 66.5 million years (dotted) the law is known to fit less well. Source: Davies and Davies (2010).

Definition 10.1 University Earth and Space Sciences — Year 1 · 第 10 章 — The Earth’s Heat Budget

The heat flow qq at a point of the Earth’s surface, or surface heat-flow density, is the power of internal origin that crosses the surface there, per unit area, counted positive outwards. It is measured in W m−2\mathrm{W}\,\mathrm{m}^{-2}, in practice in mW m−2\mathrm{mW}\,\mathrm{m}^{-2}. Integrated over the whole surface, it gives the Earth’s heat loss Q=∮q dSQ = \oint q\,\mathrm dS.
