什么是 Polymorph?

Definition 21.4 High School Earth and Space Sciences · 第 21 章 — Metamorphic Rocks

Two minerals are polymorphs when they have the same chemical composition but different crystal structures: the same atoms, arranged differently.

The fields of the three polymorphs of Al2SiO5, with pressure increasing downwards like depth (right-hand scale, for a crust of density 2830\, kg/ m3). Black lines: the boundaries measured in the laboratory; the three meet at the triple point (black dot), 504\, C and 0.375\, GPa. Dashed: three geotherms, starting from 10\, C at the surface; the circles mark where they cross a boundary.
