What is Repeated independent trials?

Repeating a Bernoulli trial nn times independently means: the outcome of each trial has no influence on the others, and the probability of any complete sequence of outcomes is the product of the probabilities along the corresponding path of the treepp for each success, 1p1 - p for each failure.

Three independent trials with success probability pp. The sequence SFS (success, failure, success) has probability p(1p)p=p2(1p)p(1-p)p = p^2(1-p) — and so does every sequence with exactly two successes, regardless of the positions: only the number of S’s and F’s matters.
